Feb 18, 2026
Australian Aerospace Engineering (AAE) was honoured on Monday this week to host Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of NSW and Mr Dennis Wilson for an official tour of its newly constructed aerospace facility at Albury Airport.
Her Excellency was warmly welcomed by AAE management and staff before undertaking a guided tour of the state-of-the-art facility. The Governor expressed her strong admiration for AAE’s service capabilities and contribution to Australian aviation and sovereign industry.
During her address to AAE staff, Her Excellency stated:
“It is often said we don’t make anything in Australia anymore, yet it is not true. Here, AAE is manufacturing and you are supporting a critical service to the country. We are a large country with a small population, and flight is essential for getting from A to B. Being such a large country, it is also a challenge to defend, and AAE’s capability supporting Defence and industry is imperative.”
Her Excellency personally met with each team member and concluded her visit by presenting personalised Certificates of Recognition in acknowledgement of their dedication and contribution to Australia’s aviation sector.
“I have strong intuition, and I can tell this is a great place to work. It just has a good vibe, and you are all part of something significant,” Her Excellency remarked during the presentation.
AAE Director and CEO, Adam Johnston, said the visit was a proud milestone for the organisation.
“It has been an honour and a privilege to host the Vice-Regal party and showcase our regional sovereign capability. Our staff are extremely proud to be part of Australia’s aviation community and play a critical role in keeping our customers flying.”
Established in 2005, Australian Aerospace Engineering now supports more than 900 Defence and commercial aerospace customers, delivering trusted throughlife support solutions. AAE’s mission is clear: “Keep our customers flying by offering outstanding solutions across MRO, manufacturing and parts distribution.”
AAE achieves this through the integration of:
- Part 145 Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul – Helicopter airframe and aeronautical component maintenance
- Aerospace Hose Manufacturing – Exclusive Eaton Aeroquip® hose shop for Oceania
- Aerospace Parts & Logistics – Stocking distributor of more than 15,000 aerospace products
Also in attendance was the Member for Albury, Justin Clancy MP, representatives of Albury City Council and Mr Stephen Harvey from the Office for Defence Industry Support.
